# Skills

> Install agent skills that guide AI tools through specific Knot product integrations.

Knot provides skills that guide AI agents through implementing specific integrations, including the right API calls, webhook handling, data schemas, and testing steps. Installing a skill gives your agent the procedural knowledge to build an integration on your behalf.

  The [MCP server](/ai/mcp-server) only helps you *search* Knot's docs and does not call the Knot API. Skills teach your agent *how to build* specific integrations step-by-step.

## Install skills

Run the following command in your terminal to view and select which skills to install into your agent's context so it can take actions on your behalf:

npx skills add https://docs.knotapi.com
```

<Note>
  Include `https://` in the URL. Without it, the skills CLI treats `docs.knotapi.com` as a GitHub repository and fails.
</Note>

To skip the picker, name the skills to install with `--skill`:

# Start with the knot skill, which routes your agent to the right product skill
npx skills add https://docs.knotapi.com --skill knot

# Install several skills at once
npx skills add https://docs.knotapi.com --skill knot knot-sdk knot-card-switcher

# Install every Knot skill
npx skills add https://docs.knotapi.com --skill '*'
```

To add skills manually, copy the `skill.md` file for each relevant skill below and paste it into your agent.
